RIPE NCC Internet Country Report: Cyprus, Israel and Malta

Our latest report covers the Internet landscape in Cyprus, Israel and Malta and examines the history of development and capacity for future growth in these countries. We include a detailed analysis of the connections between networks in each country, the traffic paths available to domestic traffic, international connections to the global Internet, access to the domain name system, routing security, and more.

Some of the report's key findings include:

• The Internet landscapes in all three countries continue to evolve, with increasing numbers of networks coming online and new investments planned for the near future
• All three countries have high levels of Internet penetration and a large amount of IPv4 per capita
• While Israel is in line with the overall world average when it comes to IPv6 deployment, Cyprus and Malta show virtually none despite holding a significant amount of IPv6 address space, and further IPv6 deployment is still needed to accommodate future growth in all three countries
• There is a good amount of interconnection and resiliency in the way networks connect with one another within each country
• The three countries have a diverse number of routes connecting them to the rest of the global Internet but are highly dependent on submarine cables for their connectivity

This is the eighth Internet country report that the RIPE NCC has produced in an ongoing effort to support Internet development throughout our service region by making our data and insights available to local technical communities and decision makers. We hope they are used to inform discussion, provide technical insight and facilitate the exchange of information and best practices.
